چکیده
Sustainable development on a global scale has been hindered by urbanization and water scarcity, but the greatest threat is from decision-makers ignoring these challenges, particularly in developing countries. In addition, spreading at an alarming rate across globe, affecting environment society profound ways. This study reviews previous studies that examined future scenarios of urban areas under challenges rapid population growth, sprawl order to improve supported decision-making (SDM). Scholars expected scenario would cause resource sustainability continually be threatened as result excessive use natural resources. contrast, sustainable ambitious plan relies optimal land use, which views limited non-renewable resource. consequence, estimating threats together could crucial for planning strategies long term. light this review, SDM tool improved combining cellular automata model, evolution model coupled with geographic information systems, remote sensing criteria analytic hierarchical process modelling. Urban planners optimize, simulate visualize dynamic processes land-use change water, using them overcome critical conditions.

Organic textile waste as a resource for sustainable agriculture in arid and semi-arid areas
New vegetation in barren areas offers possibilities for sequestering carbon in the soil. Arid and semi-arid areas (ASAs) are candidates for new vegetation. The possibility of agriculture in ASAs is reviewed, revealing the potential for cultivation by covering the surface with a layer of organic fibres. This layer collects more water from humidity in the air than does the uncovered mineral surfa...
متن کاملEvaluation of Soil Water Availability (SWA) Based on Hydrological Modelling in Arid and Semi-Arid Areas: A Case Study in Handan City, China
To evaluate the spatial and temporal soil water availability (SWA) and improve the soil water use efficiency in agriculture, this study established a new index system for SWA evaluation considering the soil storage capacity, the temporal and spatial matching degree between soil water supply and crop water demand, and the soil water transformation and utilization efficiency. To quantitatively ca...

Out of about 1.2 billion people in India, 68% people live on agriculture as their main occupation. Ground water is therefore an important resource which provides over 70% of rural drinking water supply and about 50% of water used for irrigation. Rains in Monsoon season from June to September, provide the main source of water but they last only for four months and the rest of the year is dry in ...
متن کاملSimulation of the catchments hydrological processes in arid, semi-arid and semi-humid areas
Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
